It’s been a bit quite around here but well, the world cup only comes around once every four years and I’m one of those fairweather footy fans who doesn’t follow the game much apart from during major championships. Although in my defence I must add that I did get to go to a Bradford City match a few months back when I was up there visiting some friends and I didn’t hate the experience.
Anyway, while I’ve been not blogging others have, and I’d like to direct you to a couple of new blogs.
The first is by a friend of mine who is a member of the Lunar Society, (actually, it’s modern day incarnation) and has decided that Birmingham should drag the rest of the world, even if it’s kicking and screaming, into a carbon neutral future. The blog can be found via her main website extelligence.org and if you are concerned about Birmingham and/or climate change then I urge you to go and give her your support (or not if you disagree with her) and contribute to an important debate.
The second is by my sister who has taken the brave (foolhardy some may say, ahem!) decision to leave the middle England delights of Birmingham for the chaotic Bangladeshi charms of Dhaka. She keeps a journal of her experiences at Dhaka Diary. Of course I may be biased but I think she writes eloquently about the experiences of being a British born Bangladeshi woman back in the land of her forefathers (and foremothers).
