Just saw a programme on the BBC about a skeleton that was dug-up from somewhere near Stonehenge. It was the usual well-crafted investigative format that’s employed by this type of programme where it takes an hour for them to tell you what they could have in about 10 minutes. But the reason I mention this is that at the conclusion of all this grave robbing it transpired that this man was an immigrant to Britain some 4000 years ago, who originally came from somewhere in the Swiss mountains.

All of which, in these times of BNP election successes, I find cheeringly ironic! Particularly since today the Home Office has just lost a case where some more recent immigrants were challenging them about the rights of asylum seekers to claim benefits upon arrival.
