This is the first of a series of occasional podcasts of the written works of Rabindranath Tagore.

This first of that series is from a collection of his short stories which were published in the west around 1916 and entitled ‘The Hungry Stones and Other Stories’.

It’s a tale that tells of a train journey shared by three men and the strange tale within a tale recounted by one of them. (Sorry about this but there’s some hammering going on during some of this podcast, a noisy neighbour was doing some D.I.Y during it’s recording … inconsiderate sod!).

The text used as the basis for this podcast was the one made available from the Project Gutenberg Library and while every attempt has been made to create a faithful rendition of the work there is no guarantee that it is an exact audio representation of any printed version. If you want to use this recording then please note that it is released under a creative commons license and you may only do so under the terms of that specific license.
